Bang & Olufsen goes alpine with installation at top ski resort hotel
Skarsnutes becomes first Scandinavian ski hotel to give after skiing the Bang & Olufsen dimension.
Winter is coming and – with it – the snow and the opening of ski resorts across Scandinavia. This winter, however, the Hemsedal area will have something special to offer its visitors. Hemsedal is not only one of the formemost ski resorts in Scandinavia, it is also home to Skarsnuten, the first Nordic ski hotel to offer its guests a genuine Bang & Olufsen experience.
Nestled on top of the Hemsedal Mountains, the Skarsnuten boutique hotel is a natural stone, steel and glass construction in the Scandinavian design tradition with its penchant for functional minimalism and pure lines. Through the architecture and the choice of materials, Skarsnuten opens up to the natural environment, and its restaurant offers impressive, panoramic Views of the slopes of the ski resort to complement its excellent cuisine.
Excellence in every room
Skarsnuten has 37 modern and bright guestrooms, a conference room for 80 people, and a number of group rooms. The hotel first opened its doors in 2003, and when the new season starts, all guestrooms will have been equipped with the brand new BeoVision 8, a top-performing design statement from Bang & Olufsen. Much more than a frame on a wall, BeoVision 8 renews and revitalizes the flat screen television, and at the same time offers superb sound and vision.
Two BeoVision 8 and two BeoVision 7 televisions have also been installed in the public areas of the hotel. BeoVision 7 is a critically acclaimed design icon, which offers complete home entertainment with its 32-inch LCD screen, dedicated BeoLab 7-1 loudspeaker and integrated DVD player. "The picture is superb, and the sound reproduction is outstanding," the leading video magazine Home Cinema Choice wrote in its review of BeoVision 7, and other reviewers have been equally enthusiastic.
Stronger together
"As the hotel is located in the middle of the Scandinavian Alps, Skarsnuten has a lot of attractions to offer, and this season we have added the top-performing televisions from Bang & Olufsen to the list," says John Arne Medalen, Chairman of Skarsnuten Hotel.
