St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has promoted Rob Skelston from senior development manager to development director for the South West/South Wales. Rob joined St. Modwen in April 2005 from Brixton plc, one of the UK’s largest industrial investment/ development specialists, to set up the firm’s South West/ South Wales operations together with regional director Rupert Joseland. The office has since grown into the largest regeneration company in both regions, with a total of 12 development sites across over 2,350 acres of land. Rob currently looks after six of the company’s sites in Gloucester and Bristol and in 2006 was given the responsibility to develop Glan Llyn and Celtic Business Park- the 650 acre redevelopment of the former Corus steel works at Llanwern, Newport - a 20 year project that will eventually create a community providing over 6,000 new jobs and 4,000 new homes. His promotion will see him take on a greater strategic role across the company, as well as responsibility for more sites once the company completes the recently announced acquisition of the 2,500 acre BP portfolio – a deal that will make St. Modwen the largest owner of brownfield land in Wales. Rupert Joseland, regional director, St. Modwen says: “Since joining St. Modwen Rob has helped to build up the South West/South Wales business and has completed some significant transactions during this time. He fully deserves his promotion, having shown remarkable initiative across many of our key projects.”St.Modwen promotes Rob Skelston to South West/South Wales development director
