The countdown to the John Lewis shop opening in Cardiff has begun and in 133 days the doors will open on a new department store that will change the face of shopping in Cardiff. John Lewis Cardiff counts down to September opening date

On Thursday 24 September at 9.30am John Lewis will open as the principal anchor shop for the landmark St David’s development.
Liz Mihell, managing director of John Lewis Cardiff said: “We are all thrilled to be opening in Cardiff this September. Our shop will be a contemporary showcase with hundreds of exciting products and we can’t wait to share it with shoppers in Wales.”
Covering 280,000 sq ft in total, the new shop will have over 170,000 sq ft, of selling space and feature fashion, furniture and homewares. The Cardiff store will be the second largest in the John Lewis Partnership and the largest branch outside London. 
Liz adds: “Customers can look forward to shopping for everything under one roof in a fantastic shop spanning four floors. There will be men’s and women’s fashion brands including Nicole Fahri and Stella McCartney lingerie and an aspirational beauty department including Kiehls, Laura Mercier and Liz Earle – all brands that aren’t available anywhere else in Cardiff.”
Womenswear brands will include Reiss, Ted Baker, Jigsaw, Paul and Joe Sister and Elie Taharia and in menswear Ralph Lauren, Belstaff, John Smedley, Zegna Sport and Hackett.
Hungry shoppers will also be well-served in the new department store which will feature a ‘Place to Eat’ restaurant with 293 covers on the third floor and an espresso bar with 129 covers – the largest in any John Lewis branch.

Liz adds: “We are looking forward to becoming part of the local community and this huge new space will now allow us to bring our principle-led approach to retailing to Cardiff in September.”
Recruitment is underway for more than 700 jobs at John Lewis Cardiff.
In addition to John Lewis, St David’s will feature over 100 shops, 21 cafes and restaurants and 304 new homes.
